Piler Auto Lost

10036

Piler has lost its automatic positioning reference. The system cannot confirm current location within the racking structure. Often caused by encoder or homing sensor issues.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Check encoder cable connections at motor and PLC module — reseat both ends
  2. 2 Inspect homing/reference sensor — clean lens, verify alignment, LED must be solid ON at home
  3. 3 Manually jog piler to home position and re-reference via HMI
  4. 4 Check PLC position register values (D-register or MW area) — compare to expected home value
  5. 5 Verify drive is healthy — check for overcurrent or overvoltage faults on VFD display
  6. 6 If encoder replaced, recalibrate travel distances in PLC program
  7. 7 Lower lift completely — hold DOWN button extra 3-5 seconds past normal stop
  8. 8 Turn inhibit key OFF then back ON to clear condition
  9. 9 Hit Alarm Silence / Reset on HMI

Field Trick

Manually press/hold the bottom limit sensor target while watching fault. If fault clears = sensor alignment issue. If not = electrical/PLC input issue.
