Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Check brake type — spring-set/electrically released or air-released
  2. 2 For electric release: verify voltage at brake coil when energized
  3. 3 For air release: check air supply pressure at brake
  4. 4 Inspect brake disc for wear — measure and compare to minimum spec
  5. 5 Check brake release contactor — must energize when motor starts
  6. 6 If disc worn, adjust or replace — do NOT operate without brake on incline

Field Trick

Incline conveyor brakes are spring-set, power-release. If the conveyor creeps downhill when stopped, the brake disc is worn. Don't wait — replace before product slides.
