440C-CR30 Dual-Channel Discrepancy Error

CR30-DISC-ERR

A dual-channel safety input (E-stop, gate switch, safety mat) did not have both channels activate or de-activate within the configured discrepancy time window. CR30 interprets this as a potential channel failure and de-energizes outputs.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 In CCW Diagnostics, identify which input channel pair has the discrepancy fault
  2. 2 Manually actuate the safety device slowly while watching both channel LED indicators on the CR30
  3. 3 If one LED lags the other, the slow channel has a worn contact or wiring resistance issue
  4. 4 Test the input device contacts with a multimeter — both NC contacts must open simultaneously when actuated
  5. 5 Temporarily increase the discrepancy time window in CCW to confirm if timing is the issue
  6. 6 Replace the input device if one contact is worn or sluggish — E-stop mushrooms are consumable parts
  7. 7 Check connector seating on both input channels and reseat firmly

Field Trick

Press the E-stop slowly and watch the CR30 input LEDs. Both should go off at the same time. If one flickers off then back on before the other, that button needs replacement. Slow actuation reveals contact quality issues that fast actuation hides.
