440C-CR30 Input Channel Fault

CR30-IN-FAULT

The CR30 detected a fault on one or more safety input channels. Dual-channel input wiring fault, cross-fault, or discrepancy between Channel A and Channel B input signals. All safety outputs de-energized.

Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Note the CR30 LED blink pattern on the front of the unit — count blinks to identify which input channel faulted
  2. 2 With the CCW software connected, go to Diagnostics tab to see exact fault description and channel number
  3. 3 Disconnect field wiring at the CR30 terminal for the faulted channel — if fault clears, fault is in field wiring or device
  4. 4 Measure continuity between Channel A and Channel B wires at the CR30 terminal — any continuity indicates a cross-fault
  5. 5 Test the safety input device (E-stop, gate switch) manually — verify both NC contacts open and close simultaneously
  6. 6 If discrepancy timeout fault: check that both channels of the safety device are actuated within the configured time window
  7. 7 After wiring is corrected, re-download CR30 configuration from CCW and reset the unit

Field Trick

Use a multimeter on the field wiring before reconnecting — measure resistance between the two channel wires with everything disconnected. Should read open (infinite). Any resistance below 100kΩ is a cross-fault waiting to happen.
