Air Pressure Fault

Plant air or local pneumatic supply pressure has dropped below the machine's minimum operating requirement. Pneumatic actuators may not function.

Probable Causes (ranked)

• Plant air compressor down or not keeping up with demand
• Air line to machine disconnected, kinked, or valve shut off
• Large air leak on machine — blown hose, cracked fitting, or failed cylinder seal
• Pressure regulator at machine FRL unit failed or set too low
• Pressure switch on machine incorrectly calibrated or failed

Fix Steps

1. 1 Check main plant air pressure gauge — if low, the issue is upstream of the machine
2. 2 Verify the supply valve to the machine is fully open
3. 3 Check FRL (filter-regulator-lubricator) unit — read pressure gauge, adjust regulator if needed
4. 4 Listen for air leaks — spray soapy water on suspect fittings, hoses, and cylinder end caps
5. 5 Verify pressure switch setpoint matches machine requirements — typically 75-90 PSI minimum
6. 6 Check air filter element in FRL — replace if dirty or clogged
7. 7 Drain water from FRL bowl and any low-point drains in the air piping
