Probable Causes (ranked)

Fix Steps

  1. 1 Check main and branch breakers in MCC/power panel — identify which tripped
  2. 2 Measure voltage at main buss — all phases should be within 2%
  3. 3 If overload trip, identify which loads were starting and stagger startup
  4. 4 Check transformer temperature — should not exceed nameplate temp rise
  5. 5 Inspect all buss connections with IR camera — look for hot spots
  6. 6 If utility issue, contact power company and check facility transfer switch

Field Trick

After a power event, walk the floor and count what's down. If EVERYTHING tripped, it's utility-side. If only one section, it's your internal distribution.
