Actual motor speed deviates from commanded speed beyond the acceptable tolerance window. Encoder or tachometer feedback does not match VFD output frequency.
Spin the encoder by hand and watch the VFD speed display. It should increment smoothly. If it jumps erratically or shows negative speed, the encoder is bad. You don't need an oscilloscope for this — the VFD display tells you everything.
